I tried to run these exes. A black command window appeared and disappeared in a flash, and I still couldn’t use the internet. I tried installing daemontools by running its exe. Same thing happened. Anyway, my problem is with the display adapter. The highest resolution that I can get is 16 color at max resolution of 640 x 480 which really sucks..... It was not like this before until my computer crashed and I had it reformatted and after that this is what I got.....

According to the device manager, the display adapter is "Standard PCI VGA Adapter". Using a downloaded software to analyse my computer, I found out that the PCI / AGP card is a TRIDENT 9525DVD. I downloaded a driver for this (it was difficult finding this driver) and tried to update but to no avail. The msg I keep getting is the I already have the best driver for this adapter ..... after of course failing to download a file called "direct.b1" but windows would not accept and tells me the best has been installed from a file "msdisp.inf" in window folder under INF.

Deleting the files and letting the computer search for a new driver and telling it where to search was fruitless.... it insist on using this msdisp.inf files and reinstalling the same old thing again......

If anyone out there has had similar problems and solved please please help.... Really appreciate it as this thing is driving me up the wall!!!

I'm trying to help my neighbor with an old PC. The virus wiped out the hard drive. I installed the operating system again, but he doesn't have the original disk with all the drivers on it. Would anyone know where I can find the network driver? The network card is embedded into the motherboard.
